Unfortunately, the official website for Ambrosia Software has gone offline. However, Galactic Insanity! can still be downloaded here. 

To play, you'll need to obtain a copy of Escape Velocity, which you can download from sites such as Macintosh Repository or Macintosh Garden. Please note the compatibility requirements: Mac OS 7.0 - 9.2.

If you want to play Galactic Insanity! on a modern system (Mac OS X or Windows), you'll need to get your hands on Escape Velocity Nova, the third game in the series. You'll then need to: 

• download a 'port' of the original Escape Velocity game (EV Classic for Nova),

• replace EV Nova's resource files with the port's resource files, and then

• add Galactic Insanity! to the plugins folder (as you normally would).

Mac OS X users can download EV Nova here and EV Classic here. Windows users can download a 'ready-to-go' port here (the first link - original 1996).

For Windows users, Galactic Insanity!'s plug-in files will need to be converted to the .REZ format required by the Windows version of EV Nova. Documentation will be available soon.
